Private Lessons

Private lessons are available to 1 or 2 people. They’re great for an introduction to throwing on the wheel, or can also be great if you’re looking to focus on a particular skill. Share your goals with your instructor at the start of the session and they can tailor the lesson to you.

$150 for a 2 hour private lesson (1-2 people)

All prices include instruction and materials. Participants usually make two or more pieces, which we then fire and glaze for you to pick up a couple of weeks after your party. Finished pieces are food and dishwasher safe. We require a 2 days heads up for booking Private Lessons.

Picking Up Finished Work

We will notify you when your pots are ready to be picked up!

Portland Pottery will hold your work for 6 months. Due to storage limitations, we will need to throw away any work that isn’t picked up after 6 months. So make sure you pick up your beautiful pieces after your party!!

For parties coming from out of town, we can ship the pottery to one location once it’s ready. The group would need to pay for the cost of shipping and handling, which we estimate to be $30 depending on the number and weight of the pieces.

Cancellation Policy

We require a $45 deposit to secure the booking. We issue a full refund for cancellations made more than 72 hours before the start of the session. No refunds will be issued if cancellations are made within 72 hours of the session. Changes to the # of people in the party must be made more than 24 hours in advance. No refunds will be issued if fewer people participate than are registered.
