Home School Pottery Classes
Friday 11am - 12:30 Homeschool Class
This is a great way for homeschooled kiddos to connect and create!
We explore wheel throwing, hand building, surface design, and glazing. Kids will make sculptures as well as functional items. Projects are open to interpretation with the hope that all students express themselves to the fullest extent in their artwork. We also practice talking about art in a positive manner, as well as helping others to be successful by sharing and learning. Each class has both structured instruction and independent time for producing work.
Summer Kids Program
Summer at Portland Pottery is fun both in and outside our studios!
Our summer program offers weeklong clay camps for kids ages 6-14 and runs from 9am-3pm, Monday - Friday. In 2026, the Summer Program will run weekly from mid-June through the end of August and cost $425 for the week.
Each week will include wheel throwing, hand building and sculpting in clay, plus other creative projects such as tie dye, glass fusing, and intro metal smithing for older kids. Each day, we have three blocks of creative activity plus an hour lunch break with outdoor activities and games.
Campers will expand their imaginations and explore the exciting world of clay and more. Students learn in a supportive and small group setting with plenty of individual instruction and inspiration from our counselors.
Each child receives a camp t-shirt. Class fees include all materials and firing. Please note: pieces will be ready for pick up approximately 4 weeks after camp finishes.
Cancellation Policy: No refund will be given for cancellations made within 7 days of the start of the week of camp.
