Adult Parties
Host a private party or join in on a semi-private party at Portland Pottery! Date nights, adult birthday parties, bachelorette parties, and work outings are all welcome.
Private Adult Party Info
During a 2 hour party, participants will have their own instructor and will learn the basics of making pottery and will create their own pieces. One of our fabulous instructors will provide a demo of how to throw on the wheel and then help individuals work on their own pots. You’ll then select what colors you want to glaze your pots and clean up from your session. Most participants make 2-3 pieces during a 2 hour group party!
After the party, Portland Pottery will trim, glaze, and fire your work in a kiln. It will be ready to be picked up in 2-3 weeks. Your pots will be food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
Pricing – Adult Party
We have a minimum charge to pay for supplies and the instruction time
3-6 people – $50 per person for a two hour workshop
7-12people – $55 per per person for a two hour workshop
All prices include instruction and materials. Once you book a party using the link below, we will contact you to take a $45 deposit to hold the spot.

Semi-Private Group Party Info
Join us at our new location at 49 Fox Street every Friday for an evening of throwing on the potter's wheel. Our skilled instructors guide you through the basics of wheel throwing and options for decorating your pieces. Portland Pottery will glaze, fire, and package your work for pickup within 3-4 weeks of the session. Preregistration and prepayment is required.
This is great for intro / beginner students.
We invite you to come solo, with a date, or a small group of friends. This event is BYOB (within reason). Wear or bring clothes to change into that you don't mind getting dirty!
The fee is $65 per person and the event is for adults aged 18 and over. Pricing is a bit higher for this than the private party to cover the additional administrative costs.
Picking up Finished Work
We will notify you when your pots are ready to be picked up!
Portland Pottery will hold your work for 6 months. Due to storage limitations, we will need to throw away any work that isn’t picked up after 6 months. So make sure you pick up your beautiful pieces after your party!!
For parties coming from out of town, we can ship the pottery to one location once it’s ready. The group would need to pay for the cost of shipping and handling, which we estimate to be $30-60 depending on the number and weight of the pieces.
